Store information
Scroll sideways to compare all columns.
| Field | What to enter and why it matters |
|---|---|
| Business name | The name customers recognise on your shop sign. Use the branch location where it helps distinguish stores. |
| Business address | A useful street or area description and landmark. The text complements the map pin. |
| Language tabs | Add a translation where useful; complete the default information first. |
| Store slogan | A short, factual promise or description, up to 70 characters: for example, “Fresh groceries in Mbezi”. |
| Business zone | The operating area that contains the shop. It determines which categories and service settings are available. |
| Business module/category | Choose the category matching the shop. Cosmetics and pharmacy have different customer-facing terminology. |
| Approximate delivery time: minimum, maximum, unit | A realistic range that includes picking, packing and travel. Choose minutes, hours or days as appropriate; do not promise a time your team cannot usually meet. |
| Map search, latitude and longitude | Search for your shop and place the marker at the pickup point. Coordinates identify that position; do not copy coordinates from another branch. |
| Business cover | A wide 2:1 image introducing the store. |
| Business logo | A square 1:1 image identifying the store in lists and order screens. |
Owner and account information
Scroll sideways to compare all columns.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| First name and last name | The owner or responsible applicant’s actual details. |
| Phone | An accessible number with the correct country code. Use the store contact field separately wherever the form presents it. |
| An address you control and can use for account access and messages. | |
| Password and confirmation | Enter the same password twice and follow the strength guidance on screen. Give staff separate accounts later. |
| TIN, expiry date, certificate | Supply the requested information from your business records when these fields are enabled. Do not invent an expiry date or certificate. Ask support if the form does not fit your document. |
| Additional information or documents | Complete the fields configured for your application. Their presence and whether they are required can vary. |
Place the shop correctly on the map
- Choose the business zone covering your shop. A zone is a service area, not a product category.
- Search for the shop or a nearby recognised place in the map field.
- Move the pin to the actual entrance or pickup point. Zoom in to distinguish neighbouring roads.
- Check the latitude and longitude fields follow the selected location. These are the map’s coordinates; you do not need to calculate them yourself.
- Enter a written address with an area and useful landmark, then check the map and text describe the same place.
If the form says the location is outside the zone, recheck the pin and selected zone. Do not move the pin to a false address to make the form submit. Ask support whether your real location can be registered.
Choose an honest delivery estimate
For example, if picking and packing normally takes 15 minutes and the local trip takes 20–30 minutes, a 35–45 minute estimate reflects those two parts. This is an illustration, not a required Soko setting. Include the time your team needs to prepare an order, not only the rider’s journey. Select minutes rather than hours when that is the unit you intend.
Check before submitting
Read the shop name, phone, map position and delivery-time unit once more. A marker in the wrong street can confuse riders and affect delivery calculations. A wrong category can put unsuitable fields in your product forms.
Store details can be maintained later through My Shop/Store. Operational rules such as opening hours, minimum orders and delivery prices belong in Store configuration.
