A product video with a next step

A reel can show a real product, a new arrival or how a pack looks. When you connect the reel to one product in your Soko catalogue, an interested customer has a path to the item and the ordering flow without asking you to send a separate price list.

Compared with a social video that leaves the customer to message you for details, a linked Soko reel can reduce the steps between interest and adding the product to the cart. It does not automatically place an order or guarantee sales.

Create a reel

  1. Check that your package includes Reels and that your employee role permits it.
  2. Open Reels → Add new in the dashboard or the Reels area in Soko Store.
  3. Upload the video and thumbnail requested by the form. Follow the current file-size and format guidance.
  4. Enter the description, choose Always visible or the available date range, and review the period.
  5. Select the relevant product from the store’s catalogue and enable the Order now button when you want a purchasing action. Check its price, stock and image.
  6. Save, review the preview and set the available active status as appropriate.
  7. Open the customer view to check the linked product and purchasing route.

The reel list distinguishes live, upcoming, expired and deactivated states where applicable. A video outside its configured period should not be treated as a live offer.

What to film

For groceries, show the exact pack or a new stock arrival. For a butcher, show the product offered with a clear selling unit. For cosmetics, show packaging, texture or an appropriate product demonstration without making unsupported claims.

Keep the first moment useful, the video readable on a phone and the description specific. If a promotion expires, put its dates in the caption and keep the linked offer current.

A simple first reel

Use one product that is in stock. Show the whole pack first, then a detail that helps someone choose it. For example, a cosmetics shop could show the bottle size and packaging, then link that exact listing. Enter a factual description and turn on Order now for the selected product.

After saving, open the customer view and follow the purchasing button. Check that it leads to the intended item and that its price and options are correct. A reel can introduce the product; the product page must still provide the information needed to buy it.

If the button is absent, recheck the linked product and Order now setting. If the reel is not visible, check its active status, dates and package access before uploading another copy.

Review before publishing

Check that the video and linked product show the same size or variant. Do not send a viewer from a 1-litre demonstration to an unrelated 500-ml listing. Review prices and availability again after a stock or promotion change.

A reel is most useful when the next step works. Catalogue accuracy and order handling turn attention into a dependable shopping experience.
